Here is the Library Team just before we opened for the book fair. This year 39 books were donated, thankyou to our wonderful families and friends for your genoristy. Thankyou to everyone who volunterted their time and helped out on the day. The parade was a lots of fun, with such great costumes. Well done Blaxland.

Irene Buckler is a clever Teacher Librarian who has been updating her website with lots of wonderful examples of poetry, including limericks. She also has interactive activities for the Children’s Book Council of Australia short-listed books. Have a good look there is sure to be something you will like. Interactive Literacy

Today we were lucky enough to send our library monitors to see Andy Griffiths at St Clair Public School. This was a special outing just for our hard working library monitors because they give up so much of their own time.

 Andy Griffiths was very funny and we all laughed a lot. He showed us through his new book, taught us how to annoy the teachers and how teachers can annoy kids. We were able to get some new books signed very quickly, thanks to James Erkine PS for letting us into the line, and then we came back to school. Everyone was keen to read Andy’s latest book “What body part is that?” and revisit one of his earlier books.

A big thanks to Julie Symonds and Louise for helping us out with transport. Another big thanks to Mr Foye and Mrs Smith for helping with red tape. Without all of this help it simply wouldn’t be possible to take students to these great events.
